Here's what's next on my flute plate:
As soon as Monday's quintet concert was done, I started seriously looking at this pile of music in preparation for a concert on March 23.
I actually played the orchestral version of Appalachian Spring in 1977 under Aaron Copland (I was but a child). I've never tackled the chamber version, though.
It has also been three decades since I last looked at the Stravinsky Octet.
Then there is the world premier of a new work by Jeb Koops. I took one look at the first movement and begged for the next two. The last is still being written. No problem. Really.
I'd better go practice my flute.
